Fairport Harbor Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse on Lake Erie. It is believed that two of the former keepers, Captains Butler and Babcock, still keep watch. Mrs Babcock remains to morn the death of her five year old son Robbie. Robbie can be heard playing in the lighthouse. The most documented apparition seen is that of a grey cat described as a puff of smoke, scampering around the floor with iredescent gold eyes. This cat is believed to have been Mrs. Babcocks favorite of many. The grey cat comforted her after the death of her son. Workers doing construction in 2001 discovered the mummified remains of a cat which is now on display in the building.
